voted by seven long time followers of MMA including people from MMA industry and media.

The biggest and most anticipated fight in the history of MMA. It took few years to make
this dream fight happen and finaly in june 2005 the conracts were written. At the time,
Mirko was the most feared striker in MMA and was coming from 7 fight win streak
including 6 first round finishes. The undefeated champion, Fedor showed once again
that with a good gameplan and big heart, it’s possible to fight the fight in the enemys

territory, even with a broken hand.

The most entertaining MMA fight between two top level fighters. This fight has
everything you can ask and the pace is amazing. If someone wants to know
what MMA really is, this is the fight they need to see.

The greatest comeback fight in MMA history. Final fight in the mini GP for the PRIDE
Interim Heavyweight title. Cro Cop, still undefeated after switching from K1 to MMA
were favourite in the eyes of many people after his brutal performances in the ring
against some of the top fighters in the HW division. It was clear that Nogueira’s only
change to win the fight was to get Mirko down and submit him. After the first 10 minutes
no one tought it was going to happen, but where there’s a will, there’s way. When you
hear over 67.000 fans screaming their lungs off and see the ladies crying at the
commentary table, you can be sure something special have happened.

The longest fight in MMA history. “The IQ Wrestler” did what no one else had done
before and gave legendary Royce Gracie his first loss. After 90 minutes of fighting,
Helio Gracie finaly threw in the towel. The moment is one of the most memorable
in the history of MMA.

The fight that exploded the growth of MMA in North America and helped the sport
to go mainstream. It was the final fight of reality show “The Ultimate Fighter”,
great example of stand up war and how you are able to push yourself when your
career is on the line.

The PRIDE Heavyweight Champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira came to defend his belt
with 13 fight win streak and undefeated record in PRIDE. The most feared ground fighter
in HW division was a big favourite over Russian who had fought only two times in PRIDE
before the test of his life. It was hard to believe your eyes when the PRIDE new commer
dominated the fight from start to finish. What’s even more impressive is that
the domination happened on the ground. It’s still mystery how Nogueira was able to
survive the brutal ground and pound Emelianenko delivered.

Shockwave 2002 holds the MMA event attendance record. 91.000 spectators gathered
to Tokyo National Stadium to witness this spectacular event. Sapp, “The Beast” made
from 150kg (330lbs) of muscle had significant weight and strenght advantage against
the PRIDE HW champion. Sapp threw Nogueira around the ring like he were a rag doll
and it seemed that there was no way for Nogueira to win the fight. After surviving almost
14 minutes against the beast, the Brazilian showed that there’s a reason why people say
he has the biggest heart in all MMA.

Arguably the best stand up fight in MMA history. Just watch it.

This comeback fight is hard to forget. The long-time UFC Welterweight champion
Matt Hughes was set to face Frank Trigg for the second time. This fight shows that
even if you take advantage from illegal actions and referees mistake, the win is not
self-evidence.

3rd meeting between the top dogs of the heavyweight world. The second fight ended
with No Contest when Fedor suffered cut into his forehead caused by an accidental
headbutt. This fight is simply thing of beauty. Fedor shows why he is the #1 fighter
in the world and Gives Nogueira no change to steal the belt from him.

    great list, im assuming Fedor/Crocop is #1 right?

    anyway there is one glaring ommision which is Gomi/Kawajiri, top 3 of all pride fights for me.
